On September 26 and 27 2024, our team participated in the kick-off meeting of the “Next Generation SMEs: promoting succession planning for family-led businesses (NextSMEs)” project.
The meeting was hosted by our coordinator, the Malta Stock Exchange Institute in Valletta, Malta.
The “Next Generation SMEs: promoting succession planning for family-led businesses (NextSMEs)”, is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme (Project no.: 2024-1-MT01-KA220-VET-000255565) of the European Union.
The project aspires to equip family-owned businesses with tools that will ensure a successful succession planning. This will be achieved by addressing challenges like professionalism, financial stability, and innovation.
The project seeks to ensure the sustainability and prosperity of these businesses by promoting awareness on these issues among stakeholders.
In this effort we are joined by our prestigious partners: Malta Stock Exchange Institute ltd (Malta – Coordinator), Coopération Bancaire pour l’Europe (Belgium – Partner), European Center for Social Finance (Germay – Partner), ServIn – Servizi e investimenti innovativi SRL (Italy – Partner), GEINNOVA – Gestión Estratégica e Innovación (Spain – Partner).
We consider our project important for the future of the European economy as according to the European Union family businesses make up more than 60% of all companies in Europe (https://single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu/smes/sme-fundamentals/family-business_en).
